2025 marks Coach Balderrama’s (Coach B) second year coaching with AEV and the fourth year as a proud part of the AEV family. With over two decades of coaching experience and a lifelong passion for the game, Coach B brings expertise, energy, and heart to every practice and match.
A former collegiate athlete with a foundation that began in junior high, Coach B specializes in hitting and defense, combining high-level skills with a deep understanding of game strategy and player development. Over the years, they have successfully led teams to state titles, developed full volleyball programs for both local and out-of-state facilities, and coached across nearly every level—middle school JV, high school varsity, club, summer leagues, and youth minis.

This is Hannah’s sixth year coaching for AEV. Hannah has been playing and been involved in the sport of volleyball for 19 years. She played for Amarillo Elite Volleyball for three years prior to graduating from Borger High School in 2015. During her time playing in high school, Hannah received All-district awards two years in a row and was Defensive Player of the Year in 2014. She is currently studying to become an English Teacher and Coach so that she can pursue her passion of helping youth fulfill their full potential in school and life. Hannah is happy to be involved in the organization that helped fuel her passion for volleyball.

This will be Melanie’s second year coaching with AEV. A graduate of Tascosa High School, she was a four-year varsity athlete who earned First Team All-District honors three times, was selected for the Regional All-Star team her senior year, and trained with the regional Junior Olympics program. Melanie began playing club volleyball at just 10 years old and continued throughout high school, giving her a strong foundation in both skill and competitive play. She also serves as a mentor for the Amarillo College volleyball team as they continue to grow their program.
This season, Melanie is excited to work with her 13s team—helping them grow from learning the fundamentals to building their volleyball IQ and strengthening their mental game.

Lauren DeSantiago graduated from SWOSU in May with her Bachelor’s of Science in Education and is pursuing her Masters in Health and Physical Education. She is student teaching at Austin Middle School in Amarillo and plans to get a job teaching PE or coaching school volleyball while teaching Health or PE. Lauren was a Randall High School Lady Raider as a ds/libero. She played with AEV her 17s and 18s seasons as a ds/libero. She led the team in Digs in 2022 with 357 and was Academic All Conference 2022 and 2023! Lauren has club experience in Oklahoma and looks forward to coaching club this season back in TEXAS!
Caitlin played volleyball at Tascosa High School from 2002–2006 before continuing her career at Eastern New Mexico University, where she competed from 2006–2009 and earned All-Conference honors. She still holds ENMU’s record for most digs in both a single season and an entire career. Following her collegiate playing days, Caitlin served as the graduate assistant coach at West Texas A&M from 2011–2013.

She is also the founder and director of AVA, where she continues to build a program focused on strong training, character development, and a love for the game.

Taryn has been coaching with AEV for 6 years and has a total of 7 years of club coaching experience. She played volleyball throughout school and continues to enjoy the game recreationally, in addition to offering private lessons to athletes looking to grow their skills.
Taryn is always excited for volleyball season, but what she finds most rewarding is watching players take something they’ve learned in practice and successfully apply it during a game. She’s passionate about continuous improvement and helping athletes grow both in skill and confidence.

This is Jaycee’s fourth year coaching for AEV. Jaycee played 2 years with AEV before playing on the first Inaugural volleyball team at Amarillo College where she played as a right side. She has played volleyball for 12 years now. She played as a middle at San Jacinto Christian Academy on varsity all 4 years of high school. She was named First Team All District her junior and senior year. She is currently a volleyball coach at St. Andrews Episcopal School.

This is Caitlin’s 9th year to coach for AEV, but she has been a part of the AEV family since she was 13 years old. Caitlin played for AEV for 6 years and went to Nationals 5 out of those 6 years. She graduated high school from Amarillo High in 2010 as a dual-sport athlete. She helped win two 5A volleyball state championships in 2008 and 2009, as well as played varsity basketball for three years. Caitlin played Division II college volleyball for Midwestern State University, as a middle blocker. She was a starter all 4 years, and a team captain her last two seasons. Caitlin graduated in 2014 with a degree in Exercise Physiology and went on to earn her master’s degree in Sports Management from West Texas A&M University in 2016. This is Caitlin’s 8th year working at WTAMU in Academic Technology as a Multimedia Production Manager. She was married to her husband, Stephan Lamberson, in 2016, so they are working on their 7th year of marriage! “Our daughter and biggest blessing, Reagan, was born in November of 2020. We love being parents and watching our girl learn and grow. I’m hoping she loves volleyball as much as I do!”
Jana Lantz has six years of coaching experience and a true love for the game of volleyball. She has a passion for teaching young athletes, watching them grow in their skills, and helping them become strong team players. This will be her second year coaching with AEV, and she is looking forward to an exciting season with an excellent club.
This is Reagan’s first season coaching with AEV, and she’s bringing a wealth of experience both on and off the court. She began her volleyball journey at just 12 years old, training in group sessions and private lessons. After starting out on the B team in middle school, she quickly worked her way up—earning a spot on the A team as a freshman and then competing on varsity for the next three years.
Reagan’s collegiate career is just as impressive. She started at Houston Baptist University in the Southland Conference, then transferred to the University of Southern Mississippi in the Sun Belt Conference. After four seasons, she finished out her eligibility at Texas Tech University, competing in the Big 12 and completing her sixth year at the collegiate level.
Reagan is excited to step into coaching with AEV and looks forward to seeing the talent this program is developing. She’s eager to experience the game from a new perspective and invest in helping athletes grow in both skill and confidence.

With 24 years of coaching experience, Terry and Renee bring both passion and knowledge to every practice and game. Over the years, their teams have earned four trips to USA Nationals and one to AAU Nationals, a reflection of their dedication to helping athletes succeed. As they put it best, “We love to teach kids and promote the game of volleyball.”
This season marks their 9th year with AEV, and we are truly blessed to have them as part of our program. Beyond the court, Terry recently retired after 40 years of service with the Amarillo Police Department, and Renee has spent the past 22 years serving as a therapist in Dumas. Together, they’ve built a beautiful family with three married children and eight grandchildren they adore.

Shea is excited to build on the foundation set last season and looks forward to seeing athletes continue to grow not only in their volleyball abilities but also in their character.
This is Adraya’s first year coaching with AEV, but her connection to the program runs deep. She has been playing volleyball since the age of six and began her travel volleyball journey at just eight years old. Over the years, she played six seasons with AEV and one season with G1 under the guidance of her mom.
Now stepping into a coaching role, Adraya is excited to meet all the young athletes on her team and hopes to impact their lives in the same positive way her own AEV coaches influenced hers.

This is Kaylie's second year coaching at AEV. Kaylie played on the Borger High varsity volleyball team and played two years at Frank Phillips College as a defensive specialist. Kaylie has two children, Morgan, a junior at Sanford Fritch who plays on the AEV 18's Borger team, and William is a 7th grader. Kaylie has been married for 18 years. She is looking forward to this club season!

This is Jaz’s first year coaching with AEV! She has been playing volleyball for five years, including four years of club, and is currently continuing her playing career at Amarillo College.

Alli Mershon has been part of AEV for seven years as a player and has competed in both middle school and high school volleyball for two years each. She plays as a DS/Libero and has the goal of continuing her career at the collegiate level. Alli plans to pursue her education in psychology, with hopes of earning her master’s degree and becoming a trauma therapist.
Academically, she is a three-semester superintendent scholar, a National Honor Society member, and has earned a letter in academics. Beyond volleyball, Alli is actively involved in her church, where she assists with children and youth programs. This season, she will be coaching the 14's and is excited to help her players grow while sharing her love for the game.

Rylee Orick has been playing volleyball for seven years, including six with AEV, two with Tascosa Volleyball, and her very first year with Kids Inc. Over the years, she has played every position but specializes in setting and defensive specialist.

This is Juan's 5th year coaching with AEV. He graduated from Caprock high school where he played varsity tennis for all 4 years. As Team Captain, Juan helped Caprock reach postseason playoffs for the first time in school history. He graduated with an Associates in Business Administration from Amarillo College in 2018 and is currently work as a QA Lab Technician in Food Safety.
Juan has always loved the sport of volleyball but didn’t start playing until he graduated in 2016 and haven’t stopped since. Juan began coaching with AEV in 2017, and he couldn’t imagine calling any other program home.

Jenni played volleyball for Randall High School from 1995-1997 and played club from 1991-1998. She has coached club for 10+ years. Took a few years break for family and have been back coaching for AEV since 2017.
This is Larami’s third year of coaching club volleyball for AEV. Larami is no stranger to AEV, her older sister Stormi and her played several seasons with AEV. Larami was a named 3x TGCA All-State, 3x District MVP & District Newcomer of the Year at Fort Elliott. After graduating high school, she went on to play one semester at Vernon College as an OH where she was named an All-NTJC Athletic Conference Selection and Conference Newcomer of the Year. Larami then transferred to WTAMU as a RS and to continue her education. She received her BBA and MBA with an emphasis in management. Larami currently works at Golden Spread Electric Cooperative. After stepping away from the game for a couple years, Larami decided she wanted to be more involved with the game that taught her so much. “The Lord has used coaches and the game of volleyball to bless my life beyond imaginable. I’m beyond excited to finally give back to the volleyball family!”
This will be Anabel's third year coaching with AEV. She grew up in El Paso, TX, where she played volleyball in high school. She is also a proud mom of three: Esther (18), who played for AEV for several years and is now coaching; Dayana (13), who is currently active in AEV; and Jesus (12), who loves both volleyball and soccer.
She is excited for this season and looks forward to watching her team grow, improve, and compete with confidence on the court.

This is Esther’s third year to coach for AEV. Esther has been playing and involved in the sport of volleyball for six years. She played for Amarillo Elite Volleyball for five years prior to graduating from Borger High School in 2024. Durning her time playing she received All-district awards two years in a row, and three times Amarillo Global Super Team. While in High School Esther was also a part of the Borger varsity soccer team all four years, where she also received All-district awards three years in a row. Esther was also part of the National Honor Society Council. She is currently completing her study to become a Registered Nurse. Esther is ready to share her knowledge of the game and extremely excited for this club season.
Lilliana Rangel has been part of AEV for seven years, beginning in the 5th grade. Throughout high school, she played on the Caprock Varsity volleyball team for all four years, contributing as a setter, outside hitter, and defensive specialist. She now attends Amarillo College, where she plays as a setter for the AC Badgers while majoring in Mathematics.
In addition to athletics, Lilliana is a member of the STEM Scholars program at Amarillo College. This season marks her first year coaching with AEV, working with the 12s team. She looks forward to learning from experienced mentors and sharing her knowledge, experience, and passion for the game with her athletes.

Beth Rodriguez is entering her second year coaching with AEV and will be leading the 14s team this season. A graduate of Amarillo High School, she played as an outside hitter before continuing her volleyball career at Midwestern University. She later earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma and completed graduate school at TCU, where she also coached several club teams.

Heather began playing volleyball for Trinity Fellowship Christian School, which later became Arbor Academy. Because of the influence of her coach at the time, she developed a desire to do the same and started that journey as the 7th grade coach for Faith Christian School in Grapevine, TX. After moving back to Amarillo, Heather took a few years off and began coaching 7th grade at San Jacinto Christian, where she continued to coach for 6 years, moving up to JV. During the off-season for school ball, she began coaching club volleyball with PVP and coached there for 8 years coaching ages 13-17. After taking a year off, Heather just recently finished her 8th season with AEV and has loved every minute!
Lori Stein is excited to begin her first year coaching with AEV, where she will lead the 14s team. She and her husband of 20 years have four children: their son, a sophomore at Abilene Christian University; their oldest daughter, a freshman at WTAMU; and two younger daughters in 8th and 9th grade at Sanford-Fritch.
For the past eight years, Lori has watched three of her daughters play for AEV, which has grown her family’s deep love and connection to both the game and the club. She now looks forward to stepping into a coaching role, eager to share her passion and to watch her athletes grow and develop together this season.

An Amarillo High graduate, she earned numerous honors during her playing career, including FCA MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, and First Team All-District. She went on to play for the WTAMU Lady Buffs for three years, where the program captured its fourth National Championship and also earned a National Runner-Up title during her time there.
